Vasilii Ivanovich Surikov (1848-1916) is a biography of one of Russia's foremost realist and large scale history painters of the late 19th century. This beautifully illustrated hardcover book provides both color and black and white examples of the artists work. Written entirely in Russian (there is only a 4 page summary in English at the end of the book) this book provides an up close look at the artist finished works and his preparatory sketches, as well as a glimpse into his personal life.
