Die Reorganisation des Wissenschaftssystems ist Kant und den Idealisten ein zentrales Anliegen. In seinen Vorlesungen uber die Methode des akademischen Studiums von 1802/03 entwickelt Schelling eine besonders interessante Form der Wissenschaftsreflexion. Ausgehend von der universitaren Praxis diskutiert er die seinerzeit gelehrten Wissenschaftsgebiete und zeigt, wie sein eigener Wissenschaftsbegriff die Brucke schlagt zur akademischen Realitat. Schelling's Lectures on the method of academic studies from 1802/03 stand out as a discourse based on the academic reality of his time, which discusses all disciplines taught at the universities and shows how his own notion of science can bridge the gap between philosophy and academic practice. The result is a programmatic notion of science both practicable and revolutionary. - In a variety of international articles, the present volume discusses Schelling's Lectures from the point of view of both philosophy and history of science and shows that his ideas remain thought-provoking even in a contemporary context of university debates.
