The Fiction of Joseph Heller: Againts the Grain

This critical assessment of Heller's works from his earliest short stories to his most recent work seeks to illustrate the absurdist vision which informs even his plays and occasional essays. His best-known work is "Catch-22" and this is dealt with thoroughly by the author, though not to the exclusion of other more minor works. Biographical information is included to supplement the critical discussion where relevant and draws on some previously unpublished material.
