The next volume in the series The Russian Way contains literary criticism and memoirs about one of the greatest and polemical Russian poets, M. Lermontov (1814-1841). The anthology is the most comprehensive repository of perceptions of the poet and his works in the 19th-20th centuries. This volume covers critical works and memoirs about the poet divided into five chapters: The first reaction: criticism during Lermontov's life; Between funeral and jubilees: 1840-1891; On the threshold of two centuries: Epoch of Russian modernism; Lermontov and specialists on Lermontov; Lermontov in emigration: Works of philologists of the first and the third waves of Russian emigration.
