The Russian Tsarina Elizaveta Petrovna ruled the country for almost 20 years (1741-1761). She is not as popular with scholars as are her father Peter the Great or Ivan the Terrible or Catherine the Great. There are still a lot blank spots in the account of her personal life and in the life of her court. This book tells about secrets of her palace kitchen and of palace revolutions, of the everyday life of her governmental offices and the behind the scenes struggle among her noble servants.
