State and Industrial Capitalism in Egypt

In contrast to the conventional wisdom of the political economy of modern Egypt, this study contends that the Egyptian capitalist class is not a parasitic class only interested in investing in commercial activities, and challenges the view that the Egyptian state is merely a tool in the hands of the bourgeoisie.
