Volume one includes daily notes and other chronologically arranged data on the military, political, economic state of Russia and her international relations. It also contains many sources of that time: reports to the Tsar, diplomatic mail, management documentation, trip diaries, etc. Peter the First was the main contributor and editor of this work Indices. The volume is introduced by two well known Russian historians: A. Preobrazhenskii and T. Maikova.
