Profusely illustrated book about an outstanding ballet teacher Sulamif' Messerer (1908-2004), the sister of a ballet dancer Asaf. Her father passed the exam to be a dentist, and with his family left the Jewish settlement in Vilno for Moscow in 1904. Several of his children became talented actors: A. Azarin, Asaf, Elizavetta and Ra Messerer. The celebrated ballerina Maya Plisetskaia is her niece. This book is about her family, her career in Russia and abroad, and her artistic views and colleagues in art of ballet. Glossy paper.
