The manual covers four interrelated sections of discipline "Modern Russian literary language": phonetics, graphics, spelling, Orthoepy. Phonetic level consists of a hierarchy of interacting tiers - phoneme (and their representants - sounds), syllables, phonetic words, syntagms, phrases, fonoabzatsy texts. Each of the tiers comprehensively reviewed in the manual; phonemic tier analyzes in the tradition of the Moscow phonological school. In orthoepy focuses on the formulation of public (professional) pronunciation, and therefore are involved in the works of L. Shcherba and his school in the study of styles (codes) pronunciation.
