Douglas Brinkley is an American historian who directs the Eisenhower Center at the University of New Orleans. He has written widely on American presidents, including a biography of Jimmy Carter, and on Dean Acheson, the American secretary of State when European integration began in 1950.
Clifford Hackett spent ten years in the Foreign Service and 12 years on Capitol Hill where he worked in both the House and Senate on foreign policy tasks. He has written four books on modern Europe, including Cautious Revolution: The European Union Arrives.
