Русская музыка: становление тональной системы. ХI–ХХ вв.: Исследование

This monograph by professor of Russian Gnesins Academy of Music is about the evolution of sound and pitch of tonal thinking from the 11th to the 20th century. Russian music went through several systems like the other arts: medieval, baroque, classical, romantic, modern, and postmodern. The author shows this evolution with the help of "musical facts" using instruments of musical analysis. About one third is score illustrations (pp. 236-384).
