Vadim Kozovoi (1937-1999), poet, and translator of French poets, spent six years in a soviet camp. He became a "nevozvrashchenets" (defector) during his trip to France in 1981. This book, a collection of letters, essays, and poems, is about his first years of emigration, about his efforts to became a "bridge" between two cultures. Detailed comments by Irina Emel'ianova.
