Resources to Reserves : Oil and Gas Technologies for the Energy Markets of the Future.

According to IEA projections, oil demand is expected to grow by more than 50 per cent by the year 2030, while gas demand will almost double. In principle there is no shortage of hydrocarbons in the ground, but quenching the world's thirst for hydrocarbons will require major technological progress and investment. This publication identifies the main challenges in the exploration, production and transportation sectors, examines the key technologies that are being investigated to address them, and gives estimates of future production costs.
