Regulatory reform in road freight transport : Proceeding of the International Seminar, february 2001.

This publication presents the proceedings of the February 2001 International Seminar on Regulatory Reform in Road Freight Transport, organised by The European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT). It contains all the documents presented to the seminar, the conclusions of which provided the basis for a discussion on road freight transport during the ECMT Council of Ministers meeting in May 2001. The report considers the main issues of road freight transport regulation designed to promote greater efficiency whilst ensuring security, respect for the environment and harmonious social development; as well as the implications of issues such as EU enlargement, the integration of environmental considerations and the level of taxation.
