This monograph deals with the military intelligence and plans of Russian and French armies before and during in the war of 1812. The author traces the influence of intelligence on military plans and decisions on both sides. Bezotosnyi also studies the methods of collection for this intelligence: methods of recruitment, agents, numerous reports and messages and personalities of Russian and French spies. Appendices (pp. 153-236) include list of agents and their actions on both sides, bibliography, comments, name index.
