This volume dedicated to Walter Haug contains 23 papers by medievalists who have worked with him in Tübingen. The topics covered range across the heroic epic, the courtly romance, mysticism (with two first editions), narrative literature in the Late Middle Ages and the aftermath of medieval literature in the Early Renaissance, Baroque and present-day writing, together with the interface between literature, philosophy and religion. The papers take up central themes in Walter Haug`s research and carry them forward.With its mix of close philological textual study and theoretical reflection the volume opens up new paths to understanding medieval literature.
