This book is a summary made by the author to the research of the modern history of China which centers on the Chinese revolution before 1950s. It consists of two subjects. 1) It mainly discusses the international background of the revolution of the Communist Party of China, especially the influence from the external factors including Russian revolution and the strong neighbor the Soviet Union. It focuses on sorting and interpreting macro cues and also on discussing the experience and role of Mao Zedong in the revolution. 2) It mainly discusses near 30-year cooperation and split as well as fight between two great parties in modern China, namely the KMT and the Communist Party of China. It covers the interpretation to the overall changes of the relationship between two parties and the big events of great influence in the relationship between them.
