The book selected great amount of photos to show the exterior, interior, decorations, ornaments, furnishings and related facilities of buildings of different types such as palaces, halls,pavilion etc, in the Forbidden City and explained them in chapters. What's more, it has the annotation to the pictures to increase informativeness and interestingness of the book. Beside the photos, it also has various ink drawing like the treasured historic paintings and measured drawings.
