Imprisoned Minds is the classic work written in the early 1950s by Milosz, the 1980 Nobel Prize winner in literature. It makes a wonderful description and reflection of the situation of people in Poland and the three Baltic countries before and after World War II. The interpretation power of many of Miloszs insights remains strong even in todays context, or with even more potent and space. The Chinese world has long been looking forward to this book, whose Chinese version is translated directly from the Polish edition, while with the prefaces in German version and English version, and a introduction written by Cui Weiping, a well-known critic. It is regarded as a rare book.
