This collection is about the image of the Great Patriotic War, its history and mythology, in soviet films. It includes a list of films on this topic made in 1942-2004 (368 titles). The second chapter of this book contains minutes of the discussion "Soviet fiction cinema in 1944" led by Ivan Pyr'ev, which took place in February 1945. The third chapter publishes reviews from the foreign press of 1942-1946 on some soviet films about the war.
