淮南鴻烈集解

This book, that is, Huannanzi, with 21 pieces was collectively compiled by the guests invited by Liu An, the Huainan King to explicate the Taoist ideology. Annotated by Xu Shen and Gao You, it is a precious material for the research on the Huang-lao ideology in the early stage of the Western Han dynasty with extensive content. The book compiled by Liu Wendian combines the ideologies of more than 20 scholars such as Wang Niansun, Sun Yirang and Yu Yue, etc. with Zhuang Kuiji version as the master copy in reference to the books of same kind in Tang dynasty. It is worthy of reference for its rich content, clear outline, accurate selection and peculiar point of view.
