This book aims to assist a final year Master's student or graduate in making an informed decision on whether or not to pursue a PhD. It provides the reader with an understanding of what a PhD actually is and what it can do for the holder. The book explains the structure of the thesis, the process of gathering information and writing.
It includes a new chapter on Research Methodology as well as the author's new experiences and knowledge gained during his five-year tenure as PhD supervisor and one-year tenure as Chairman of the PhD Committee. There is also a chapter on the seven strategies of excellence practiced by successful PhD students.


About the Author


Dr. Kamarul Zaman bin Ahmad is the former Deputy Dean and Chairman of the PhD Committee. He is currently a full-time lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources in the Faculty of Business and Accountancy at the University of Malaya.
He has been a practicing lawyer for over 10 years and currently holds give degrees : BA (Hons) Law, Bar-at-Law, MBA, ICSA and PhD. He also specialises in Industrial Organisational Psychology and has presented papers at international conferences, and conducted consultancy work and numerous motivational training courses in Malaysia and overseas.
He is also a practitioner and trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy and Hypnotherapy. He is registered with the American Board of NLP, Hypnotherapy and the Time Line Therapy Association.
