Communication, Cinema, Development: From Morosity to Hope

This probes various aspects of communication and cinema in the context of development and exemplifies the arguments through an analysis of three films of Satyajit Ray and two films from Bangladesh. Pleads for a serious reflection on the links between communication, cinema and development and for more radical projects to better the lives of people.
