This book introduces the sources and characteristics of Tibetan Thangka collected in the Palace Museum, Tibet tribute Thangka and its characteristics, palace Thangka and its characteristics. It includes 323 pieces of treasure Thangka. The Palace Museum in Beijing collects more than a thousand of Thangka, which are all Qing Dynasty palace collections of valuable works created by artist both in Tibet and the mainland in eighteenth Century. The big difference of the style of Thangka art between different region of Tibet, different sects, different teachers have ended up with various and colorful style of Thangka. Those Thangkas collected in the Palace Museum, featuring bright and colorful with distinctive characteristics of Tibetan art, is an important part of Tibetan painting though it has long disseminated to the mainland.
