Product Description Author Heather Huffman reunites some of her fans' favorite characters with this unforgettable journey of romance, friendship, humor and suspense.Tenacious reporter Rachel Cooper devotes her life to exposing corruption by shining a light on the darker corners of the world - a career that doesn't leave much room for relationships. Even so, she finds it impossible to stop thinking about her unexpected run-in with Conrad Langston, an old flame that never quite burnt out. When her mother calls in the middle of the night because her sister is missing and the police are offering little help, Rachel immediately turns to the only person she knows she can always count on - Conrad. Determined to protect her family, Rachel finds herself embroiled in the frightening and tragic underworld of human trafficking. As her pursuit of justice pulls her deep into the darkness, she recognizes an opportunity to re-evaluate her choices in life and take a new path - even if it means walking through the fires of hell to protect the ones she loves.Passionate, engaging and poignant, Devil in Disguise entertains while raising awareness of modern day social issues. Review "Heather Huffman has once again written a compelling story that was at turns both heart-wrenching and light-hearted." - Donna at GIRL WHO READS From the Author There were so many things about this book that were fun to write, and I adored getting to revisit the characters from Jailbird. But there were a lot of things about this book that were difficult, too. I worked closely with the lead investigator at Project Liberty to incorporate real stories from the front lines of the fight against human trafficking into this novel. Often, after those meetings, I would close the door to my writing room and weep for the women, children, and men lost to the abyss of the trafficking industry. Those stories have been fictionalized for the purpose of this book, but my hope is they will give a face to the victims of this modern-day atrocity. About the Author Heather Huffman lives in a small town on the border of the Missouri Ozarks that many liken to a modern-day Mayberry. Personally, she likes to think of her quirky little town as her very own Midwestern Stars Hollow. When not writing, Huffman loves having adventures with her three boys or spending time with their dogs and horses. She is also the co-owner of a digital marketing agency, 16 Hand Marketing.
