In 1918-19 the White Army with help of the Entente allies successfully overturned Soviet power in the Far East, and created the short lived Far Eastern Republic with its capital in Omsk, led by Admiral A. V. Kolchak (1873-1920). The trial of Kolchak's officials was the very first political trial of the Bolshevik government, and was a rehearsal for the forthcoming trials. It was not a trial of specific people, but rather of the whole counter-revolution in Russia, and as such was highly publicized. This is the first publication of the main documents related to the trial of former members of the Kolchak government. Primary in the collection are the texts of verbatim records of the eleven sessions of the Extraordinary Revolutionary Tribunal of Siberia. Included in the first chapter are documents revealing the design and preparations for the trial.
