Product Description Stelzig, Eugene About the Author Eugene Stelzig is Distinguished Teaching Professor of English at SUNY Geneseo, where he has taught since 1972 and where he also served as Chair of the English Department (1997-2001). He was born in Austria and educated there and in France before coming to the U.S. in 1961. He holds degrees in English from the University of Pennsylvania, Cambridge University (King's College), and Harvard University (PhD 1972). In addition to nearly forty articles on romantic and modern literature and autobiography, he has published books on Wordsworth (1975), Hermann Hesse (1988), and Rousseau and Goethe (2000), and has edited a collection of articles on Romantic Autobiography in England (2009). He has also published poetry (including Fool's Gold: Selected Poems of a Decade, 2008) and translations of German poetry as well as several autobiographical essays.
