I Used To Have Wings

Life can hit us and leave us feeling down and in the dirt. When we feel like we have hit rock bottom, we often search for people, places and things to be our wings and pick us up. We turn to family, we turn to friends, we turn to money, sex, drugs, social-media, isolation, self-abuse, and a number of other sources that in reality, cannot provide us the salvation that we are looking for– an eternal and salvation. The Bible says that those who wait on the Lord will mount with wings like eagles, and will run and not get tired. God is very aware of the pressures and traumas of our life and He has made a promise that if we truly trust in Him and truly focus on Him and His Word, keeping His Commandments and having faith in His Only Begotten Son, that we will fly with wings like eagles. The wings that we choose to adorn ourselves with, the things that we think will save us, will determine whether or not we come crashing down during the next storm that hits us, or if we fly forever no matter how stormy the skies in our lives become.
