This monograph compares the image of man in the sermons of the Roman Catholic and Russian Orthodox Churches in the Polish-Lithuanian state of the 17th century. The author analyzes the differences between the two religions in the interpretation of: human nature, sin and its consequences, death, reward or punishment after death, ways of salvation and social ideals: personal responsibilities towards society, labor ethics and wealth.
