Though Zhang Dachun said humbly he was not very experienced in writing prose, he accepted the invitation of Reader's Digest to write a column, because he wanted to learn from Mr. Liang Shih-Chiu who wrote a column on that magazine for readers to identify and correct errors of using Chinese characters. He wants to contribute to the declining culture of Chinese characters in this age by re-identifying the characters and writing stories of the origins of the characters.
