The first volume of this dilogy is a collection of 23 works by Russian women political prisoners about the GULAG. It was first published in 1989. Since then Russian society did not condemn and did not repent this crime, which may be compared only with Hiter's camps. The second volume includes 50 more personal stories about or by Stalin's prisoners as well as several articles about the camps and grandiose construction projects in Siberia which caused the deaths of thousands of camp slaves. The second volume is published for the first time. This two-volume publication is the largest collection of memoirs about the political repressions of the Stalin regime. 130 illustrations.
