This Book Will Introduce The Reader To The Relatively Understudied Subject Of Furnishing Textiles In Early Medieval Egypt. It Will Also Serve As The Exhibition Catalogue For The Exhibit Woven Interiors: Furnishing Early Medieval Egypt. It Will Include Both Examples Of Furnishing Textiles Presented In The Exhibition, As Well As Comparable Important Works In Other Collections And Contextualizing Images Of Architecture. The Catalogue Will Also Serve As A Scholarly Introduction To The Collections Of The Two Institutions (the Textile Museum And Dumbarton Oaks), As Many Of These Textiles Have Not Been Published In The Last Thirty Years, If Ever. Our Aim Is To Spark The Imaginative Process That Has Driven This Curatorial Research And To Encourage Readers To Think More About The Role Of Textiles As Part Of Early Medieval Interiors--
