Slavery obscured : the social history of the slave trade in an English provincial port

This work enquires into the social and mental world of 18th-century Bristolians. It asks such questions as: how did the city's merchants interact with the forces behind British colonization?; and what was the relationship between trade in slaves and trade in slave-produced commodities?
