Within the religious life of Indian Muslims, the daragh or shrine plays a central role. This book describes the location, architecture, rituals and kinds of worship that occur in the country's major Muslim shrines. It also looks at the sorts of pilgrims that are drawn to the daragh, their aspirations, their faith, their general social and religious outlook.
