"Passionate Mind: Essays in Honor of John M. Rist" pays tribute to the academic work of a prolific and distinguished scholar in Classics and Philosophy who, after graduating from Trinity College, Cambridge University in 1959, began his professional career immediately thereafter at the University of Toronto (appointed as Professor Emeritus in 1997) and, before finishing his career in 2017, held appointments at the University of Aberdeen, Cambridge University, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Institutum Patristicum Augustinianum in Rome, and the Catholic University of America.
