The Politics of Cultural Mobilization in India

The papers in this volume investigate the association between politics and cultural mobilization, and the possibilities it creates for a rethinking of the relationship. The volume isolates two trends in fragmentation of Indian politics: the impact of cultural mobilization on the fragmentationof identity and the increasing regionalization of the Indian political system.
