About the Author


Emmanouil Marios N. Economou is an economist. In 2014, he received his doctorate from the University of Thessaly, Greece, where he is currently a Research Fellow. His research focuses on institutional economics, economic history, the international political economy, defence economics, and public economics. He has written three books and 16 book chapters, and has published 28 papers in such periodicals as Journal of Institutional Economics and European Journal of Law and Economics. He has also published many articles in the Greek press on economic, political and defence issues, and has participated in many international Conferences. Nicholas C. Kyriazis earned his doctorate in Economics from Bonn University, Germany, in 1979. He is currently Professor at the Economics Department of the University of Thessaly, Greece. He has published more than 50 papers in journals such as European Journal of Law and Economics, and Homo Oeconomicus, and more than 20 papers in edited volumes. In 2005, he was honoured with France's highest decoration, the Chevalier de la Legion d' Honneur for his contribution to European integration and work for the Economic and Monetary Union of the European Union. He frequently writes articles in the Greek press on economic and political issues.
