This self-contained book presents a single unified theory which can be employed to predict the macroscopic behavior of continuous media, fluid or solid, under the influence of external agents of mechanical, thermal, or electrical origin. The basic mathematical tools necessary for the understanding and use of tensor analysis are presented concisely in the appendix.
